Tenuta Ca’Bolani Pinot Grigio Wins Best of Class and Gold Medal at Sunset International Wine Competition!

Miami, FL (July 24, 2012)- – Casa Vinicola Zonin USA, Inc. is ecstatic to announce Tenuta Ca’ Bolani Estate’s Pinot Grigio outstanding win at the Sunset International Wine Competition, held at Sunset’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California on July 9 and 10.

Casa Vinicola Zonin’s Tenuta Ca’ Bolani Pinot Grigio 2011 wins Best of Class and a Gold medal— making it the number #1 wine in its class, in the Italy DOC category.

Tenuta Ca’Bolani Pinot Grigio is “light straw with green hues.  The nose has a beautiful balance of peach, pear and minerals with notes of gardenia and blanched almonds.  The palate is dry, medium bodied, silky and reveals mouthwatering yellow peach and savory minerals that lead to a long and refreshing finish.   This wine is a perfect match for prosciutto di Parma or shelf fish.

Two other wines from Casa Vinicola Zonin’s extensive portfolio received Bronze Medals as well, Zonin Prosecco and Feudo Principi di Butera Insolia 2011.   “We are delighted by this news and thrilled that Tenuta Ca’Bolani Pinot Grigio won Best of Class.” said Marketing Director of Casa Vinicola Zonin USA, Pietro Morelli.

The Sunset International wine competition had 2,837 entries from the United States and around the world.  Some of the US’s most respected wine experts, 51 of them to be exact, came together to judge the two-day event.   There were 61 Best of Class, 283 Gold Medals, 566 silver Medals, and 567 Bronze Medals awarded.   Sunset will promote award winners at their Grand Tasting event in September for their November magazine issue and online publication. The competition also donated a portion of the proceeds from entry fees to the Children’s Health Council based in California.
